The first official Newsletter! We are excited to share monthly updates about policy, programs, events, and more. From “Pack the Pantry” to “Town Talks", we had a full month of action and advocacy. Looking forward to the same as we enter October, which is Farm to School Month. Open this edition to learn about the awesome work coming up in October.

October was full of great moments celebrating Farm to School Month. October also came with a lot of uncertainty about the future of SNAP and WIC as we entered a federal government shutdown, in addition to the state budget impasse. In the midst of the chaos though, the community came together to support Bag the Bounty, the Giving Spree, and other organizations trying to keep our neighbors fed.

What a year it has been. None of us could have foreseen the chaos that unfolded. But though it all, the community action and support that were a result of our longest government shutdown in history proved that collective action can make a positive impact!

Upon reflection of 2025, we are so thankful to continue the momentum our Food Policy Council’s restructure was seeking. This momentum brings us into the new year, with not only many goals, but also realistic steps to achieve them!
